Pros

Address integrity issues head-on. If dishonest behavior is happening at any level, it needs to be investigated and dealt with transparently — looking the other way erodes trust with staff and ultimately affects students. Remove managers who are backstabbing or undermine their teams. Leadership that pits people against each other or throws staff under the bus destroys morale and drives good employees out. Only promote or retain managers who can actually train their people. If a manager can't onboard or develop their team, they shouldn't be in that role. Build real career pathways. Employees need to see a clear route for advancement, with defined criteria for promotion, not just longevity or who you know. Invest in training. New hires and existing staff both need structured onboarding and ongoing professional development — winging it costs the institution in turnover and quality. Fix internal communication. Establish regular channels (staff meetings, updates, a shared calendar, whatever fits) so people aren't left guessing about decisions that affect their work. Bring more structure to operations. Decisions made last-minute or without planning create stress and inconsistency for staff and students alike.

Cons

I worked at this community college and want to share an honest account of my experience for anyone considering employment here. Lack of integrity: In my experience, dishonesty was a real problem — I witnessed behavior from staff and leadership that I can only describe as people lying, cheating, and stealing from the institution. This created a toxic environment where trust was hard to come by. No path for growth: There is no real support for advancement. I received no meaningful training, and opportunities to move up or develop professionally were essentially nonexistent. Disorganized operations: Everything felt like it was run "fly by night" — decisions were made haphazardly, with little planning or consistency. Poor communication: Communication from leadership and across departments was consistently lacking. Important information often didn't reach the people who needed it, which made it difficult to do the job well. Overall, I can't recommend this as a place to build a career. If you're considering working here, go in with clear eyes about the lack of structure, training, and transparency.
