Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. As you are a current employee I encourage you to reach out to HR at employeerelations@catholicguardian.org with specific concerns so that we can look into them. Corruption is a serious accusation and HR investigates all concerns that are brought to us. We have policies against this and we do enforce them. As part of our employee referral service we do often employ family of our staff, however, never in a command structure to avoid any concerns. If that has been circumvented, please report to HR. HR can assist with the first two concerns. Unfortunately we cannot control gossip by the employees. If employees choose to participate in that and no one is willing to speak up it is beyond our control. If it is creating distrust in the workplace or an uncomfortable situation, please reach out to Employee Relations for assistance.

the agency offers excellent benefits and a positive work environment with supportive colleagues. Employees have opportunities for career advancement, and teamwork is highly valued throughout the organization. The fact that many staff members have remained with the agency for more than 15 years demonstrates its stability and strong employee satisfaction.

Cons

long-term career opportunities, excellent company events, and meaningful employee recognition. The organization values its staff and fosters a positive, supportive work environment.

Pros

The role offers strong exposure to high-acuity residential work, crisis management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. It can build clinical resilience, multitasking skills, and comfort working with complex youth needs. Coworkers are often a source of support because staff have to rely on each other to get through demanding shifts.

Cons

There is no real office space, and staff are expected to travel between three houses each week while conducting therapeutic work in settings that do not consistently allow for privacy or continuity. Sessions often require negotiating space day to day, which makes it difficult to create a stable therapeutic environment. A significant amount of time is spent trying to engage clients and documenting those outreach efforts, which adds to the workload without always moving care forward. The role also involves a great deal of time managing logistics and adapting to whatever space is available, rather than practicing in a structured clinical setting. Staff are expected to manage direct care, crisis response, documentation, care coordination, scheduling, and compliance responsibilities within the same workday, which is often not realistic. The documentation burden is substantial and can interfere with therapeutic work. The environment can feel reactive rather than structured, and staffing/support do not always match the level of responsibility placed on frontline workers. As a result, burnout can become normalized instead of addressed.
