Pros
Acquiring knowledge of the pharma industry was a big plus. Pay is decent and time off was good. The lab and department experience was the only good thing about this job.
Cons
SEVERELY understaffed. I'm gonna blame the HR department for not viewing our positions as critical enough to back fill. I will blame the management of the quality department for not doing more to keep existing, good employees. Including myself, 6 people have left the department in past 2 years and those holes exists today. Training and clear exceptions for job roles were lacking due to keeping up with people constantly leaving. Playing catch up in the department existed in almost EVERY capacity. Lots of secrecy in terms of promotions and personnel relationships in the department which lead to not trusting coworkers and management. It's was like being in high school again and experiencing all the worst parts over and over again everyday. Bad management lead to my job seeking and ultimate resignation. There is NO clear path for promotion and the requirements change on a whim. Again, this more of a company issue and less of a department issue. IF YOU MUST WORK HERE, THIS IS A STEPPING STONE JOB. GET EXPERIENCE AND HAVE ZERO EXPECTATIONS FOR ANYTHING MORE. If you have this mindset, you will be happy and fulfilled. Learn from my mistakes and lower your expectations.
