I worked in the Reporting and Analysis Department. The first day I started I was told that the manager does not explain things well. Fact is, no one does. And it can be very confusing. Because of that it is also very frustrating. An example is that they keep their old documents on a document retrieval system. That way, if you want to look at a document in order to do some research then you can find it easily. Problem is that there is a backlog of about two years in loading documents into the system. But what I can't understand is that they have more than enough people to do the various jobs here. But they keep on hiring more; to do less. Another example is that I was tasked to work with an employee who was leaving. He had been here for about two years. He was supposed to know how this particular task was supposed to be done. But after asking a question that he did not have the answer to, we had to ask the department manager. Who explained it to us. But in doing that we all found out that this employee who was leaving did not know how to do that function. So for the past two years it had been done incorrectly. This is a non-profit so no one is paid as well as in the for-profit world. There is no career advancement and most people just want to do their jobs then go home. So if you are the type of person that likes to be challenged and likes to keep busy this is not the place for you.
