Pros

Childtime provided thorough training that lasted about three days. Your uniform is provided free of cost, and you get polos as well as LCG tees.

Cons

Where do I begin? Management sucks; one manager has been accommodating to me, as there were many questions I had as a new employee. She's been nothing but patient with me. The other manager rolls her eyes at me and won't give me the time of day. Thanks for nothing. Coworkers are cliquey and rude. Some have called the children ugly! You don't say that to a kid, regardless of if they'll remember it or not. The way some of my coworkers treat the kids is horrible. All they do is yell at them. Hugs are rarely given, and compassion is rarely shown. There is no tight bond between the kids and the teachers because no teacher will accept kids as kids. Additionally, they're incredibly hard on the kids. Curriculum is boring and uninspiring, they never have sensory experiences (NEVER allowed to get messy, NEVER allowed to play rough, NEVER allowed to solve their conflicts themselves!!!). Kids are kids, if you tell them how to play, if you tell them how to act, if you tell them to sit down and shut up, they'll grow to be unable to express emotions and be developmentally behind those who were free to be kids. Additionally, I'm rarely given breaks, even though law requires one each 4 hours worked. I'm starving by the end of the day! Pay is horrible, I feel like I'm breaking my back for nothing. Management doesn't recognize when people are doing good work. I've been an employee for a while now and I've never been told I'm doing a good job, even though I clean 3 rooms on average daily and bounce from room to room. If you're thinking about working here, please don't. If you value free play, free expression, and exploration, this is not the place for you.

Pros

Learning Care is a company where you can grow.I received my CDA and then was able to take and complete the Master Teacher Program as well. I have been with the company 20 years and have worked my way up from Infant Teacher to Assistant Director.

Cons

Although they have gotten better with this, But we are open most holidays. Sometimes it seems like we can use a little break here and there. Especially around the Winter holidays when we are expected to be here always. A little more time off, and paid time would be good.

Pros

I was hired as a Lead Preschool Teacher, but was verbally promoted to Pre-Kindergarten teacher.

Cons

I thought I was the Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, but just to find out she hired a new Pre-Kindergarten teacher, and inform the parents on Sprout About bulletin. This was very unprofessional. It actually hurt my feelings. I was rehired, and was excited to finally get the job I been wanting. Just for someone younger and only have 8 years experience to get it. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been teaching for 16 years..
