Overworked, underpaid, under appreciated, but the kids were great - Childcare Worker Childtime Learning Center Employee Review

Pros

I loved the children of course. Many of my coworkers were kind to me. All my colleagues and I were extremely hardworking so I would say we offered a high quality of care for the kids. Also Childtime has a system where employees can donate to a fund that supports other employees in case of emergency (like if they lose their home in a natural disaster, they need to take leave to support a sick loved one, etc) which one of my coworkers benefitted from when her husband got sick so that was a bonus

Cons

Basically everything. We were made to feel guilty if we had to use the bathroom, we always had way more kids than the state legally allowed, and they generally didn't treat us well. They'd move the kids around so they could send staff members home, because the managers would collect any unused hours as a bonus at the end of the year. Parents would often get mad about their kids getting moved around because then they couldn't see their child on the security camera, which was the whole reason they paid for this center in the first place

Pros

Learning Care is a company where you can grow.I received my CDA and then was able to take and complete the Master Teacher Program as well. I have been with the company 20 years and have worked my way up from Infant Teacher to Assistant Director.

Cons

Although they have gotten better with this, But we are open most holidays. Sometimes it seems like we can use a little break here and there. Especially around the Winter holidays when we are expected to be here always. A little more time off, and paid time would be good.

Pros

I was hired as a Lead Preschool Teacher, but was verbally promoted to Pre-Kindergarten teacher.

Cons

I thought I was the Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, but just to find out she hired a new Pre-Kindergarten teacher, and inform the parents on Sprout About bulletin. This was very unprofessional. It actually hurt my feelings. I was rehired, and was excited to finally get the job I been wanting. Just for someone younger and only have 8 years experience to get it. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been teaching for 16 years..
