Pros

Above all else, I admired the mission. The pay was good, and the HR staff were communicative, at least.

Cons

The company continued to allow events to take place that were not in the best interest of the employees OR the clients. There is a strong sense that the number one priority for this organization is maintaining a government contract and the "bottom line", regardless of the long-term outcomes for anyone that is not upper or upper-middle management, which, again, includes the clients. This is highly unfortunate given the mission for TAP, the long-term success of newly separated service members. I fear we will only see the results of these decisions through increases in Veteran homelessness and suicide rates.

Pros

The organization’s greatest strength is its people. I worked alongside many talented, dedicated employees who genuinely cared about the mission and wanted the organization to succeed. The work was meaningful, and I had the opportunity to collaborate with knowledgeable coworkers who were committed to serving others and supporting one another.

Cons

In my experience, the greatest challenges were organizational culture, communication, and leadership. Communication was often inconsistent, transparency was limited, and employees did not always feel comfortable raising concerns or offering different perspectives. Career growth and compensation progression were also limited. Over time, I observed many capable employees become less engaged because they did not believe their feedback would lead to meaningful change.
