Yet another reduction in force occurred last week (RIF). Most recently non-billable roles have been targeted, but that does not mean the work being performed simply vanishes. Instead - all of it lands on the plates of those still employed. Ciber over commits and under estimates, thus leading to problems meeting financial targets at the project and corporate levels. Bottom line impacts are passed along in the form of jobs moved offshore, RIFs, lack of salary increases, and reduced bonus availability. Leadership claims to have a plan, but all the workers see is more work with fewer people to do it all and a reward structure that is not aligned with expectations.
