Pros

Loved my manager and all my coworkers. Loved that I could have colorful hair and my customers seemed to like me enough to keep coming back.

Cons

Expected to: Do the job of two employees in one shift so the company can save money The location was in Fenton Central. So many zombies to deal with, daily. The manager who hired me was fired after two months of my employment. For stealing...pretty much whatever wasn't bolted down. He stole money from the cashier's registers after asking them to stock the cooler. He stole cigarettes by the carton and alcohol as well. Food and who knows what else. They put down that the reason for his termination was because of "working too many hours off the clock". I was never informed about any of this after he was let go. But heard it from an employee who had gone to HR and I'm guessing got them to look into his behavior. (I did have all this confirmed in conversations I had with the people who lived in the neighborhood and saw, with their own eyes, him doing the above-mentioned. They are exceedingly anal about your hours, and you get in trouble for not clocking in or out on time to stay under 40. So, if your super busy on your shift and you don't get your page and half worth of expected duties done, then the next shift had to do them, and, I'm sorry, I am not that person. Tasks were simple to understand and straightforward but a lot of times people wouldn't do what they were supposed to even if it wasn't busy and they would "fluff" everything to make it look like they stocked etc. With our hours so strictly monitored, it always amazes me that we were, "hiring at this location". If we were it was for a stupid bit of hours worth. Not worth even doing. But, hey,how else are companies supposed to make it look like there are plenty of jobs out there for use at the bottom trying to beat 8 or nine other potentials for the same position? Before I was the graveyard CSR, I got to work on a non ventilated "kitchen" in the back to cook their new " Fresh Food Fast" which was an attempt to keep up with their rival QT. However, shortly after I quit, they completely replaced the Kitchen person with a "for hire" company called Shift Smart. 3 times a day a new person would come in and cook the food. Usually without even knowing how to do it after ONE training with another shift smart employee. Their olindo structure is not a good foundation and it will crumble down upon them shortly. I have seen it before. You get one 50 cent raise automatically after your 30 day review and if you do good I guess you get more but no one told me if I had or not.

Cons

Massive company. I worked a couple different roles from the “corporate” side, even if I was in stores a lot of the time. One thing I learned is that the “office” or “corporate” roles don’t really have a day off. Sure, it’s a Monday-Friday job but it’s like regardless of what you do there, you’re on call in some way but there isn’t any sort of incentive in return. You’re likely not going to get a sufficient work-life balance working here, because, again, someone is going to be calling or emailing you on the weekend or in the evening where either you have to handle it, or pass it onto someone else who can. Lack of thorough vetting has resulted in unqualified leadership with challenging management styles that hurt daily team morale.
