Pros
Well known, highly respected company. I absolutely LOVE my job. I used to be a contractor in 2012 and came back as a permanent employee in 2014 to a different department. I was very unhappy in the position I originally took - the management was not very good, employees did not take responsibility for their actions, no feeling of appreciation and were not held accountable for their actions. It was a lot of stress, a lot of myself picking up all the slack. If I needed to get my kids in an emergency, I was told there needs to be someone to answer the phones. If my kids had to go to the hospital, I would leave in an instant without thinking twice to have some there to answer phones. Management played favorites, frequently excluding the "other" employees. Thankfully, after 9 months, a position in HLS opened up. I applied and was offered the position. I was in the HLS department when I was a contractor and loved every minute of it. Mortgages are a totally different animal than a lot of the divisions Citizens offers. I am SO happy I was given the chance in the HLS department. I am a work-a-holic. I love it. I love having good work stress, being busy the entire day, and helping people buy homes...there is no greater feeling that telling a person they are "clear to close." My manager is absolutely amazing. She is kind, compassionate, very passionate about her work, always helpful and very encouraging. I have a great team, they are all very supportive and are always there to help. If I have an emergency, someone has your back, and it is so appreciated. There are so many career paths one can take at Citizens. I am hoping that I will be employed with Citizens until I retire, honestly. I could not have imagined a more put together company with strong values, and am so lucky I am one of its' colleagues.
Cons
Technology could be better; Help-Desk people barely speak English. Facilities are not always stocked; ice machine never produces enough ice for the amount of employees in the building.
