Pros
I've been with CivicPlus for almost 5 years now and I still love it. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities for growth. In the past 5 years, I have held 3 different positions and each new position has been a promotion. If you are willing to work hard and put in the effort, CivicPlus is willing to take a chance on promoting individuals internally with on-the-job training to allow them to gain new experience. However, don't expect this treatment if you are not willing to work for it - it is given to those who earn it, not just those who ask. For me, the development opportunities are the biggest pro at CP, but I would also highly recommend them for their fast paced work environment (extremely fast, not for everyone, but a great fit for me), excellent culture, and for the outstanding people that you get to work with.
Cons
Being such a fast growing company in a very fast moving industry, CP is not without it's growing pains. Leadership are currently figuring out how to really make an impact in our market and trying to figure out the best way to grow our employee base as well. This can lead to some rapid changes in direction while we work through issues. Internal communication has been a problem in the past, but I have seen improvement in the last 5 years. Because of the location of CP, the pay scale for many jobs is much lower than the national average. If you are only in it for the money, you should look elsewhere.
