Pros
Work life balance is good. And no micromanaging.
Cons
In my business unit: The codebase is largely legacy and lacks proper structure, with minimal use of established design patterns. Many implementations rely on quick fixes rather than well-thought-out solutions. Communication between components or services is predominantly synchronous, even in cases where an event-driven approach would be more appropriate. There is an absence of consistent code reviews and technical guidance, leading to a “if it works, merge it” mindset. Performance and scalability considerations are often overlooked during development. While the organization emphasizes having structured processes, in practice there is a heavy focus on meetings without corresponding improvements in engineering quality or technical direction. From the team’s perspective, there appears to be noticeable politics at the management and leadership level, which can influence decision-making and affect overall team dynamics.
