Pros

The people you work with day-to-day are generally all great.

Cons

No longer the principled company it was at one time under TR. The current company is now very corporate and clearly beholden to wall street. Leadership is very much more interested in getting ahead for themselves rather than serving our customers well and producing quality products that the world needs. With regards to service, they seem set on providing the lowest level of service that customers find acceptable rather than providing exceptional service to set the company apart. As an example, in the recent layoffs, a number of SMEs in various departments across the company were let go. The ONLY benefit there may be for this is in the reduction of salary/benefit costs, but losing these people is costing more money/time by other staff who lack the knowledge and experience. The CEO is a true boomer. Here are a few examples from the November 2019 town hall. In front of everyone, he winked at a female subordinate. When asked about the lack of diversity with almost all of upper leadership being old white men, Jerre said that he actually helps with diversity by being over 75 - failing to realize that the only people who that will attract are just more old white guys. When asked about the fact that there have been reorg's at least every 6 months since separating from TR and are now undergoing yet another, he had no real answer. He made - the only legitimate answer he could have given is that the current reorg was to correct mistakes of past leaders, but that would take some understanding of past reorgs, which he clearly doesnt have (or care about). Other notable things he did were to belittle employee comments, saying he doesnt believe them, despite the comments all being among the top in votes. Other leaders participating in the town hall suggested you're acting like a child if you are unhappy with the layoffs, which just shows they lack empathy and any understanding of the personal affect that layoffs have.

Pros

Opportunity to work with talented colleagues across North America, EMEA, and APAC. Flexible work environment with a strong emphasis on work-life balance for many teams. Complex, global business challenges that provide opportunities to develop operational, strategic, and cross-functional leadership skills. Exposure to enterprise transformation, AI, digital modernization, and large-scale operational initiatives. Collaborative teams with many dedicated employees who genuinely care about customers and each other. Ability to work with highly educated professionals across multiple disciplines and industries.

Cons

Organizational complexity and frequent restructuring can make decision-making slower than necessary. Roles, ownership, and priorities are not always clearly defined, which can create duplication of effort and reduce execution speed. Cross-functional collaboration varies significantly across organizations and often depends on individual leaders rather than consistent operating practices. Communication during organizational change could be more transparent and timely. Career progression can be challenging in certain parts of the organization due to ongoing structural changes. Continued investment in leadership alignment and organizational simplification would improve employee engagement and operational effectiveness.
