Pros

Few colleagues are nice and you can build relationships for life You get salary

Cons

o The CEO, President of LSH, and ELT are a useless bunch who only play politics to keep their positions. o The bad culture trickles down. Leadership stabs people in the back and pushes reportees and subordinates under the bus. o LSH President, Henry Levy does not understand the business/industry, is rude and impatient. Too full of himself to listen to anybody o You realize in a few months that you cannot trust any leader or many colleagues. o Mid-management and below have good people, but in the toxic environment, they are also pushed to their limits. o Leadership forces people to lie, and if you don’t comply, you are cornered. o Your mental health deteriorates. Even if you start your day well, you end up stressed and frustrated by the end of almost every single day. This impacts your personal life and health. o People are psychologically forced to work at any hour of the day. o Leaders think they own you like servants and have no empathy. o Different business units do not work together. BU heads tell their teams not to speak or share content with other teams. o There is constant change in the org chart, with people moved between verticals. I had 3-4 reporting managers in a year. o CEO Jonathan Gear is like a puppet or trophy wife. He does not have the traits of a good leader. o There are so many things wrong with this company, but you can do one right thing: Do not join this company unless you have no other job and need to pay bills. Do not listen to any fluff about how the company has changed, leadership has changed, or some person has been fired, etc. I feel the people who have left were better than the toxic people who remain. o Think of Clarivate as a bubbling pond of toxic green acid.

Pros

Opportunity to work with talented colleagues across North America, EMEA, and APAC. Flexible work environment with a strong emphasis on work-life balance for many teams. Complex, global business challenges that provide opportunities to develop operational, strategic, and cross-functional leadership skills. Exposure to enterprise transformation, AI, digital modernization, and large-scale operational initiatives. Collaborative teams with many dedicated employees who genuinely care about customers and each other. Ability to work with highly educated professionals across multiple disciplines and industries.

Cons

Organizational complexity and frequent restructuring can make decision-making slower than necessary. Roles, ownership, and priorities are not always clearly defined, which can create duplication of effort and reduce execution speed. Cross-functional collaboration varies significantly across organizations and often depends on individual leaders rather than consistent operating practices. Communication during organizational change could be more transparent and timely. Career progression can be challenging in certain parts of the organization due to ongoing structural changes. Continued investment in leadership alignment and organizational simplification would improve employee engagement and operational effectiveness.
