Pros
Nevada PERS, public employee retirement system; Wonderful students; Living in or near Vegas; Nice peers; Many Title I schools, so loan forgiveness is easy to get; There is no Last Call in Vegas, so you'll have plenty of time to drink away your troubles with administration
Cons
Administrators who perform poorly are shuffled from one school to another; Teachers aren't given information on whom they can contact for help if their administration is unclear or unreasonable about demands; New teacher mentoring is an absolute joke; Administrators will set a teacher up to fail; Administrators don't blink or even show compassion when a new teacher asks for help writing and teaching 70 lessons a week while still keeping up on progress monitoring; The unions for support staff, teachers, and administrators are all spineless; Support staff has had frozen pay or pay cuts for the last eight years; There is no consistency within a performance zone, let alone across the district; The teachers health trust is horribly mismanaged and has had some of the most ridiculous copay structures imaginable
