Pros

Working at Clear Street from India has been a genuinely rewarding experience. The company operates with a strong engineering-first mindset, and you can feel that in the quality of problems you get to solve and the level of ownership you’re trusted with. There’s a real emphasis on building scalable, modern financial infrastructure rather than maintaining legacy systems, which keeps the work both challenging and meaningful. One thing that stands out is the transparency and accessibility of leadership. Even from India, you don’t feel like you’re on the periphery—communication is open, and your ideas are heard. The culture is performance-driven but not political. If you’re someone who enjoys taking initiative and solving complex problems, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to grow. Compensation and benefits are competitive, and there’s a clear effort to align everyone with the company’s long-term success. Overall, it’s a great place to work if you want to be part of a high-impact team building the next generation of financial infrastructure while being based in India.

Cons

As a fast-growing company, priorities can shift quickly, which sometimes leads to rework or changing requirements. The pace is quite high, so it may feel intense. Being a relatively smaller and newer setup in India, some processes and local support functions are still evolving. Collaboration across time zones can occasionally mean late evening calls. Documentation and internal tooling are improving.

Pros

Great leadership, incredible colleagues and great vision

Cons

Not really much, probably not the right fit if you are trying to pass days/do the same work without trying to innovate, learn, and grow.

Pros

$17 daily DoorDash credit. Free food in the pantry.

Cons

I joined the company before the planned IPO during a period of high optimism and strong morale. However, following the withdrawal of the IPO, I observed a noticeable decline in culture, employee morale, and clarity of direction. In my experience, there was a lack of visible leadership and communication at a time when employees were looking for guidance, which contributed to uncertainty across the organization. While the company positions itself as a fintech with ambitious growth goals, many internal processes felt more aligned with those of a traditional financial institution. I found workflows and processes to be cumbersome and difficult to scale efficiently. Day-to-day work is often highly reactive and process driven. I also experienced a significant amount of oversight and micromanagement, resulting in a job that gave me very low autonomy. In my experience, there was also an expectation of being available outside of normal working hours, despite already being in office for 10+ hours per day.
