Pros

Clear Street is a robust and fast-growing business with some of the best tech on Wall Street. Since the firm has multiple growing business lines and distinct products, the scope of relevant talent is actually very broad. Whether it's infrastructure engineering, trading systems, product engineering, distributed systems, or front-end, Clear Street is hiring. This body of work is enough to keep busy and interested as a recruiter. The team is composed of people from diverse backgrounds and specialties, but each person is also well-rounded in terms of their craft. Management is open-minded as to letting people step out of their comfort zone in terms of work and is supportive of people wanting to grow. In general, learning and development are key focus areas for the leadership team; we all strive to get better at what we do, and we help each other do so every day. In addition, Clear Street Recruiting makes extensive use of recruiting technology and content. Through careful utilization of data and market intelligence, we are able to identify and bring relevant opportunities to every kind of engineer or businessperson. Through proprietary content, we are able to bring our name out to market and spread the word about the cutting-edge engineering and financial work going on here. The atmosphere at work is collegial and friendly while also being fast-paced and focused. People who go above and beyond are noticed and rewarded accordingly. The office is located near the NY stock exchange, in the heart of the financial district, and the firm caters lunch daily! Overall I would definitely recommend Clear Street to any ambitious recruiter.

Cons

The office snacks go quickly!

Pros

Great leadership, incredible colleagues and great vision

Cons

Not really much, probably not the right fit if you are trying to pass days/do the same work without trying to innovate, learn, and grow.

Pros

$17 daily DoorDash credit. Free food in the pantry.

Cons

I joined the company before the planned IPO during a period of high optimism and strong morale. However, following the withdrawal of the IPO, I observed a noticeable decline in culture, employee morale, and clarity of direction. In my experience, there was a lack of visible leadership and communication at a time when employees were looking for guidance, which contributed to uncertainty across the organization. While the company positions itself as a fintech with ambitious growth goals, many internal processes felt more aligned with those of a traditional financial institution. I found workflows and processes to be cumbersome and difficult to scale efficiently. Day-to-day work is often highly reactive and process driven. I also experienced a significant amount of oversight and micromanagement, resulting in a job that gave me very low autonomy. In my experience, there was also an expectation of being available outside of normal working hours, despite already being in office for 10+ hours per day.
