Pros

ClearStreet is a well run tech savvy financial services operation whose primary focus is to build a modern prime brokerage. Engineers use modern tech stacks on platforms like AWS, get to use modern mac laptops and freedom to investigate and learn new technology while still reaping the monetary perks of working for a financial services company. Overall a very fun place to work. - Ultra modern tech stack. Engineers often encouraged to research and promote new technologies. - Definitely not a place you can coast, but the pay is above average and you will love it if you like a challenge and like to constantly learn new things. - 4% employer 401k match - Pretty flat hierarchy. Managers and VPs are very accessible and come from a tech background rather than a pure finance. - Doordash credits for free lunch 4 out of 5 days - Pretty good options for medical insurance, LTD, STD and life insurance

Cons

The cons are far fewer than the pros. - Although we do have town hall meetings, I would like to see them more often. - Would like the option for employee paid Long Term Disability (LTD) so that in case God forbid someone needs to use it, the payout is not taxed.

Pros

Great leadership, incredible colleagues and great vision

Cons

Not really much, probably not the right fit if you are trying to pass days/do the same work without trying to innovate, learn, and grow.

Pros

$17 daily DoorDash credit. Free food in the pantry.

Cons

I joined the company before the planned IPO during a period of high optimism and strong morale. However, following the withdrawal of the IPO, I observed a noticeable decline in culture, employee morale, and clarity of direction. In my experience, there was a lack of visible leadership and communication at a time when employees were looking for guidance, which contributed to uncertainty across the organization. While the company positions itself as a fintech with ambitious growth goals, many internal processes felt more aligned with those of a traditional financial institution. I found workflows and processes to be cumbersome and difficult to scale efficiently. Day-to-day work is often highly reactive and process driven. I also experienced a significant amount of oversight and micromanagement, resulting in a job that gave me very low autonomy. In my experience, there was also an expectation of being available outside of normal working hours, despite already being in office for 10+ hours per day.
