Pros
Tons of gratis. Full time employees get $300 credit to redeem online toward select Clinique gratis 3x a year. You also get gratis when you go to trainings, which happen once every 2-3 months. You will be drowning in gratis, seriously. I have enough daily essentials to last me the next two years. Clinique doesn't skimp on training or on gratis.
Cons
God forbid your lab coat gets a single drop of foundation on it or gets creased -- you get sent to the office to steam it and try to clean it. The customers are insane. Clinique is the cheapest department store brand, almost on par with drugstore prices but, because of the semiannual GWP promotion, customers straight up refuse to buy if you don't give them a gift or load them up with sample sized products (usually online exclusive). Prepare to hear "So if I buy this $26 moisturizer, you can't give me the $27 minimum purchase GWP? What kind of scam are you running here?????" or "When's the next gift? Oh, in five months? I'll wait." Never have I seen such self-entitled customers, and Clinique totally feeds into their culture of expectation and entitlement. The higher-ups look at you like you have three heads if you mention using any other brand's products. You're expected to pre-sell $4000 worth of this GWP event but there are never any incentives for the customers, making the goal very difficult to reach. Clinique expects you to convince someone to put down their payment info NOW, leave without the product in hand, and then agree to instead come back in a month to pick up their purchase with a bonus gift. The company itself is suffering and it's suffocating to work for a company that is on the downfall.
