Pros

Working at Clozd is a decent experience. If you're lucky you get to work with some of the top brands in the world and maybe afford a vacation or two. The reps in the trenches are authentic and will have your back. We have snacks!

Cons

As of late, the quotas have become unrealistic. Quotas were raised this year after only ~20% hit their annual quota last year. Reps were shocked at sales kickoff that leadership was touting 50% attainment which was a lie. It was a slap in the face to those grinding it out and seeing ramping reps hit ramping quota off lucky inbounds that could have gone to AEs that really deserved it. Truthfully, your best chances of hitting quota are in your first year because after that, chances are you won’t have enough pipeline to truly sustain multiple quarter hits with a full quota. Most revenue comes from the hands of a select few reps that are heavily favored for certain inbounds or already have the top accounts. There were layoffs in 2023 and witch hunts in 2024 and you can still feel the aftershock in moral and the fact that we are still over hiring. The perception is that leadership fears being caught off guard when win-loss finally takes off like a rocket ship. Product market fit is still a work in progress. Most companies see this as a nice to have. All things considered, the culture it’s pretty good which is surprising at times because there is a feeling of low trust. This is because 100% of your time is required in the office. Leadership is metrics driven to their own detriment incentivizing the wrong behaviors. Founders have even told reps/managers in private that it’s mostly a way to keep people busy and keep tabs on them. They know it’s really the luck of the accounts, politics and inbounds that come in. Mangers will slyly tell you that they can control your destiny so it’s best to get with the program.

Pros

Great team, fun culture, and very engaging work. You are directly contributing to client strategy and get to work directly with c-level contacts regularly with some of your customers

Cons

Complex role with a lot of moving parts. Like many CSM jobs it can be hard to influence outcomes with some difficult clients

Pros

They hire amazing people. I met the best and brightest people and worked alongside them.

Cons

The program management role at Clozd is incredibly challenging. The team's leadership is a significant pain point. The department is led by a micromanager whose approach relies more on fear than on building others up. While he is a genuinely wonderful person on a personal level, his lack of trust in his employees severely limits his ability to recognize and develop the greatness within his team. Also, the way the leadership handles employee transitions is highly concerning. Once an employee has run their course or decides to move on, they are treated like dead weight or outcasts. This lack of respect, combined with heavy workloads, high stress, and constant uncontrollable variables, has resulted in severe team burnout. The team's morale is significantly affected by the poor treatment of departing colleagues.
