Pros

The job is rewarding many ways, but that all revolves around working with the clients, and consumers. Life experience is one of the greatest benefits.

Cons

It is all about the money....unlike some companies, CSG is for profit, and they always look at the bottom line first, staff or client be damned. I worked as a DSP, and in two levels of management. You always have to watch your back, from those above you. They will lie and blame you for their mistakes. I worked with an individual who ran out of meds, and the APD was supposed to have ordered them and did not....She got another staff member fired blaming them.....She asked me if needed, did I have her back, she wanted me to lie for her..... Upper management has no clue as to what goes on, if the state ever paid an unannounced visit, a lot of the group homes would be shuttered that very day....... Pay is poor, benefits, OK......you can get better insurance off Obamacare......they force you to work OT...if you don't when you want time off, they will do little to find coverage for you, and not allow someone you found to work your hours to do so....The middle management runs on pettiness, revenge, and greed

Pros

CSG offers a really great amount of PTO that increases with time served (3 years, then 5 years, etc.) The team I worked with was absolutely fantastic and dedicated to the work. Compensation was decent, but not for licensed professionals.

Cons

Very poor communication from the executive team to the rest of the employees. They don't have in-house marketing and expect their mental health staff to market themselves to clients, as if we were a small private practice rather than a large for profit mental health organization. This led to consistent issues with getting clients in the doors. In 2025 they changed the PTO payout for employees so instead of getting what is left in your bank when you resign, you get a very small portion of it, which is ridiculous.
