Pros

Great benefits, compensation, tangible results of work, genuine desire among employees to make a positive change through the organization's work.

Cons

Recalcitrant resistance from HR and SDR leadership to honest critiques and feedback, branding such things as "toxic"; imbalanced concern for CI brand over employee concerns; scope of programming results exaggerated (per two visits, one to Tegucigalpa, Honduras and o e to Lira, Uganda); Christmas Fund campaign is intentionally misleading based on research marketing conducted showing people less likely to give when aware they give to a general fund; heretical speakers (i.e. the author of The Shack) invited to give pep and spiritual advise to employees at mandatory functions.

Pros

Great people... great mission. Incredible to be a part of such a life-changing ministry to some of the most impoverished children in the world.

Cons

Expectations are very high to do so much with relatively little resources.

Pros

Everyone is attracted to the mission, at least at first. There are some exceptional benefits in terms of work flexibility, and an overall sense of making a meaningful impact in lives.

Cons

Things move slowly, and direction is often unclear to the point that staff lose motivation. The organization is undergoing financial stress with no clear remedy, and there are very limited opportunities for growth. It's frustrating to see pet projects get resources while true organizational needs go unattended. The medical insurance offering has been almost worthless, though Compassion tries with a HSA plus-up.
