Pros

Great purpose, passionate people, believes in its work and changes lives

Cons

Can't get out of its own way. Continuous dramatic changes in structure and responsibilities leave employees burned out and unclear on responsibilities.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re grateful you recognize the strength of our purpose—it’s the heart of everything we do. We also hear your concerns about organizational change and its impact on clarity and workload. Over the past several years, our rapid growth and evolving global landscape have required significant structural shifts, and we acknowledge that this pace can be difficult for our teams. Burnout and confusion are not outcomes we want for our staff, and your feedback reinforces the importance of the work already underway to strengthen our systems and improve communication. We’re committed to creating a more stable and sustainable environment that enables our people to thrive while we pursue our mission. Thank you again for your honesty—it helps us grow.

Pros

Great people... great mission. Incredible to be a part of such a life-changing ministry to some of the most impoverished children in the world.

Cons

Expectations are very high to do so much with relatively little resources.

Pros

Everyone is attracted to the mission, at least at first. There are some exceptional benefits in terms of work flexibility, and an overall sense of making a meaningful impact in lives.

Cons

Things move slowly, and direction is often unclear to the point that staff lose motivation. The organization is undergoing financial stress with no clear remedy, and there are very limited opportunities for growth. It's frustrating to see pet projects get resources while true organizational needs go unattended. The medical insurance offering has been almost worthless, though Compassion tries with a HSA plus-up.
