Pros

Salary and safety bonuses were good. I also made some good friends from other DCs while I worked there. Honestly if it hadn't been for my immediate office situation I would still be there. The company as a whole was great at providing information and training on products and had the right idea about allowing front line employees to build relationships with customers to improve customer retention rates. They were also good about sharing specific information as to how we were doing as a company and getting front line employees invested in the success of the company as a whole.

Cons

Distribution Center Managers can be a pro or a con depending on who you get. I met some awesome managers that were great leaders and ran a wonderful site office. Then there were others that played favorites, spread gossip, were absent when needed, got defensive when confronted with issues, and did not follow through with professional improvement promises. When these issues were brought to next level management the issues were not properly addressed. For anyone that didn't engage in these same activities or questioned them, they were made to feel like they were the problem. Extensive socializing between managers and direct reports outside of work created an atmosphere that eventually became hostile for those that chose not to do the same and only served to escalate the favoritism. The other issue was that while there were several wonderful and professional sales staff, some were allowed to be aggressive and verbally abusive toward their support staff. The more senior the sales person, or the bigger their margins, the more the behavior was overlooked and allowed to continue.

Pros

Worth the multiple interviews!! Amazing Benefits more than I could have expected

Cons

Strenuous Hiring Process, but worth it the company is very caring and they do their due diligence on vetting new hires. The first few weeks are planned very welll and the structured training process is Awesome!

Pros

Most of the employees are decent people looking for sincere connections from their coworkers while others fake it so they can gossip or tattle. Learned a lot about the industry in a short time especially since the work load continues to pile up even for new hires. Buyers are permitted to work from home two days of the week after their 6 month probation period.

Cons

Never ending side projects or improvements that require employees to change how they were taught even just months prior. Less than 2% yearly pay increase for a company of this size seems crazy. Parts of the annual performance review are based on factors out of the buyers control with no indication that the company has a plan to rectify it but someone the buyer is still held responsible. Some senior salesmen are permitted to be aggressive/demanding to new hires who are still learning their job. Very strong chemical smell in the Lakeland office whenever a styrene shipment arrives usually on a Monday which lingers in the office for a few days and can make it difficult to concentrate. Senior employees gaslight new hires that there is no smell or that it doesn’t bother anyone else. Management does nothing to try to ventilate the office and even make a big deal if asked to open a door for fresh air. Many employees are related to each other.
