Pros

There were only a few things I enjoyed about working here. Learning about the products and their uses, the customers, one co-worker, and co-workers outside of the State of Utah.

Cons

My Managers and co-workers. They did not know how to function as a team! No respect towards other co-workers. Manager did not address any issues that were brought to him ( he made excuses for them instead ) Human Resources at the Corporate Office did not address any of the issues either. It wasn't a bad place to work in the beginning, until you got to know the people, and how the Company treated it's employees. No Growth Opportunities! As time went on and nothing was addressed, it made me hate coming into work every day. Other employees, in other States also had similar opinions that they voiced to me.

Pros

Good pay and room to move

Cons

They speak a lot about culture, values, safety, and training, however they have no real follow through if it costs them any time or money. THey preach RTC (Respect, Teamwork, Communication) and stumble at all 3.

While most of our team members don't post on Glassdoor, they know we have an open door where they can communicate their concerns and positive experiences at Composites One. In fact, one of of our valued team members, who earlier this year had a string of personal challenges, recently commented that "The speed and veracity at which supporting internal staff reacted to my situation has left me contemplating the fact that what could have left me with a very negative impression reinforced what Composites One is really all about - Respect, Teamwork and Communication. In my 29-year career, I have grown a little skeptical about buzzwords and catchphrases of the day, so it is refreshing to have a career somewhere where I truly feel they care about me." Pros

Salary and safety bonuses were good. I also made some good friends from other DCs while I worked there. Honestly if it hadn't been for my immediate office situation I would still be there. The company as a whole was great at providing information and training on products and had the right idea about allowing front line employees to build relationships with customers to improve customer retention rates. They were also good about sharing specific information as to how we were doing as a company and getting front line employees invested in the success of the company as a whole.

Cons

Distribution Center Managers can be a pro or a con depending on who you get. I met some awesome managers that were great leaders and ran a wonderful site office. Then there were others that played favorites, spread gossip, were absent when needed, got defensive when confronted with issues, and did not follow through with professional improvement promises. When these issues were brought to next level management the issues were not properly addressed. For anyone that didn't engage in these same activities or questioned them, they were made to feel like they were the problem. Extensive socializing between managers and direct reports outside of work created an atmosphere that eventually became hostile for those that chose not to do the same and only served to escalate the favoritism. The other issue was that while there were several wonderful and professional sales staff, some were allowed to be aggressive and verbally abusive toward their support staff. The more senior the sales person, or the bigger their margins, the more the behavior was overlooked and allowed to continue.
