Pros

They have a good 401k, they were super nice in adding the entire week off for the end of the year, that was amazing.

Cons

I have never seen a company where the leadership shows no gratitude, is almost never thankful and has nothing but negativity. Obviously this is not everyone, I deal with a lot of great people, but leadership, I would laugh at using at that word. This company should provide mental health days, typing this I want to cry for the level of treatment.

Reading this reviewer’s comments, I must say that I am sorry that we have even one Team Member who feels this way. Leading this company for over 25 years, I have continued the values that were instilled in our company by my family from the very beginning over 80 years ago. Every job is the most important job, and all our Team Members are important, and their work is sincerely appreciated. At Composites One, all our senior leadership work hard to create an environment of mutual respect, teamwork, and open communication. We deeply appreciate the tremendous effort our Team Members make every day to take care of our Customers. As pointed out in this review, our profit-sharing plan is especially good and designed to share the success of the company with our Team Members. This year, we also know that everyone needed an extra break and as recognition of this and our profound appreciation for everyone’s work, we added a solid week off to our usual holiday break. We regularly meet and talk with over 640 Team Members but, clearly, we missed in helping this reviewer know that there are additional paths to communicate concerns about how we conduct our work. We encourage open door discussions and our president & COO, Leon Garoufalis, and I always welcome and will listen to any Team Member’s suggestion or comment. Additionally, our Human Resources Team, led by VP Sharon Hansen, provide an anonymous channel through which Team Members can report any behavior inconsistent with our values – including shortfalls by the members of our leadership team. Feedback is crucial to our work to create a company that is great place to be for all Team Members and that takes exceptional care of its Customers. It continues to be my privilege to work with all our Team Members. Thank you. Steve Dehmlow, CEO

Pros

Most of the employees are decent people looking for sincere connections from their coworkers while others fake it so they can gossip or tattle. Learned a lot about the industry in a short time especially since the work load continues to pile up even for new hires. Buyers are permitted to work from home two days of the week after their 6 month probation period.

Cons

Never ending side projects or improvements that require employees to change how they were taught even just months prior. Less than 2% yearly pay increase for a company of this size seems crazy. Parts of the annual performance review are based on factors out of the buyers control with no indication that the company has a plan to rectify it but someone the buyer is still held responsible. Some senior salesmen are permitted to be aggressive/demanding to new hires who are still learning their job. Very strong chemical smell in the Lakeland office whenever a styrene shipment arrives usually on a Monday which lingers in the office for a few days and can make it difficult to concentrate. Senior employees gaslight new hires that there is no smell or that it doesn’t bother anyone else. Management does nothing to try to ventilate the office and even make a big deal if asked to open a door for fresh air. Many employees are related to each other.
