Pros
Good place only to get some experience and meet good people. Accrued time off was pretty fair.Mostly great people on the floor. Direct staff very friendly and concerned for work life balance. I loved almost all the people I worked directly with including the Lead-Supervisors, and SMES and and I was sad I had to leave for family reasons though many other non-personal issues made it a chore to work there.
Cons
A few hand crafted power point presentations is no substitute for actual training. Though I admit jumping into live calls are the best training overall you still need a solid foundation from which to build and that is something that, unfortunately you'll have to build yourself because you won't get it in your first 2 weeks (if your lucky) of training. The call metrics you must adhere to kept getting tighter. Expected to maintain the same stats whether on calls or emails. Though it was painfully obvious that everyone on emails call stats were suffering if they were ever placed on calls for that period and happen to have a long call. This would unbalance ratios and screw stats because the next day they were likely back to emails and may never take another call that week. SO it doesn't average out though that's what they like to tell you should happen if you're "doing your job". SO you get penalized..and don't make bonus for the quarter. Meanwhile most people who either stay on phones or emails w/o being switched to/from usually make stats w/o issue unless they truly do not give a damn. Note I do not blame any of this on the people on my team or leads. The company simply did not seem to really provide much support or budget for materials like those for training or decent metric analysis or even legal pads and pens. Sometimes leads would give office supplies to workers out of personally purchase supplies. I myself would go buy my own. Finally...don't plan on getting a raise. You may start at around $11/ hour there you will stay. This is to handle calls from (at the time I was there) 2-4 clients. All with varying procedures and databases. Not as difficult as it sounds but still...a bit underpaid don't you think. I heard they used to pay very well and had great benefits until the housing collapse that cause the economy bust last decade. Then they froze or cut peoples pay and never put it back. Why would they? They realize people got buy. Let's see what else they can get buy without? While stocks soar. CGS INC. is not evil. Just about every corp is doing it now. It's just the new paradigm. Health Benefits are a bit overpriced..probably for good reason..to steer you toward Obamacare. At least they don't hand you a Medicaid form like Walmart.
