Pros

This is a Customer Service call center job. If you enjoy customer service, there are a variety of contracts and responsibilities. Technical Support, on the other hand, is a different story. Limited in your support scope.

Cons

If you are out of a job and employment ran out, this is a way to make a paycheck. Unfair/Unequal treatment - examples: - company attendance policy is not enforced across the board (at 8 points, you are supposed to be terminated, but we had an associate with 10 points and he was not); - Even if you are obviously sick (like the flu), if you don't have a doctor's note, you still get charged a point if you call out sick - AND you cannot use your PTO hours to cover your sick time. - they reward poor employees far too much, giving them "point buy-back coupons" to reduce the number of points against them; - PTO (paid time off) requests are denied for no reason, while others get their requests; - during interview, was told I could earn a raise in 6-12 months, but a few months after hire, was told there had been a wage freeze in effect for several years; - shift bid process is arbitrary; - once you are hired into a specific queue, it is impossible to get out (no lateral transfers); - they do so few call monitors, that your meager "bonus" is usually based on one call monitor (bonus is about $100 a month on average - or less); - the rewards for top employees are almost non-existent. - Pay is very low ($10.50 per hour) for the large responsibilities of the job. - When you ask for PTO (even far in advance), they don't approve it until the Friday before, so you cannot plan a vacation. - Top leadership from New York come to visit from time to time to talk to employees. but nothing changes.

Pros

No pros working for this company

Cons

- Mandatory unpaid holidays (unless you have PTO available to cover them). - Pay is $16/hr, and increases only seem to happen when the state raises minimum wage. - Internal IT couldn’t fix broken taskbars for 8 months. - They reward employees with occasional pizza days and “National Apple Day” events instead of actual raises. - You have to wait for approval to take breaks/lunch, and there are days when you end up skipping breaks because of call volume. - No real growth opportunities: you’re basically stuck in an L1 role unless you leave the company. - Training lasts 5 weeks where you go through Dell powerpoints for about 2 weeks before “real training”. When we started taking calls, we didn’t know how to do about 80% of the work. - Health benefits only kick in after 90 days. - High turnover rate: my training wave started with 15 people, and we were down to 3 before I left. The same thing happened in other training waves as well. They seem willing to lose money hiring and retraining people instead of giving raises or investing in employee retention. - Some L2s are unprofessional, aggressive, and defensive. Conclusion: Please avoid this company at all costs.
