Pros

Competitive benefits, ample PTO, flexible hours

Cons

Management in the CAD department has no idea what it's doing. While it's nice to see supervisors who have been with ConforMIS for many years, they have simply risen in the ranks to managerial roles with no real training. It become apparent when supervisors are unable to solve simple conflicts, and insist on not trusting their engineers with some of the more challenging non-production projects. There also is horrible disconnect and poor communication between departments and it causes major delays to any and all projects--another sign of poor leadership within the company. ConforMIS only cares about the amount of work you are capable of doing, more so than the people it employs. Since the rapid growth of the company a few years ago, ConforMIS has thrown away much of the culture that made it a fun and enjoyable place to work, and has started to hire people who don't fit in the company ideals as a form of desperation. If you have an engineering degree from an accredited school, you will find no challenge working in the CAD department, and will lose many of the skills you've gained in college while you waste away here. The CAD positions are ideal for people with 2-year degrees or from technical schools. High school co-ops are entrusted with the same tasks and workload as people with 4-year and advanced engineering degrees--tell me how there's nothing wrong with that picture. All the enjoyable and fun parts of working in the CAD department will soon be replaced by software applications soon anyways
