My experience at CI was largely positive--incredibly knowledgeable staff and leadership, and collegial atmosphere. - Anonymous employee Conservation International Employee Review

Pros

Conservation International is a dynamic organization with a compelling mission and an open, respectful, globally-minded corporate culture. There's a high level professionalism across all parts of the organization but the culture also recognizes the importance of maintaining a work/life balance. There are many employees who have worked at CI for five or more years.

Cons

Even though CI is very good at promoting from within, early career professionals (those 2-5 years out of school) have fewer opportunities for career advancement within the organization. It's not uncommon for employees at those tiers to advance by moving to a different part of the organization. Also, opportunities vary by department because some stay relatively static for years and others do not.

fully remote work options available

Cons

nature finance group is a toxic workplace where a constant turf war is happening. nepotism is widespread. you only survive if you belong to one of the internal tribes. majority of effort concentrated to internal politics. Incoming vice presidents and above are largely insecure and mediocre staff only looking to cover their bases. low morale, sense of instability, lack of strategy, and poor management are visible at face value. Indicative that the management was cooking the employee survey results for almost a year.
