Pros

Working at Convatec was the best corporate experience I’ve had. I truly believed in the company’s mission and vision, which made it easy to feel connected to the work I was doing every day. The people were incredible—supportive, welcoming, inclusive, and genuinely invested in one another’s success. I can honestly say I never experienced the “Sunday scaries” because I looked forward to going to work each day. My managers consistently invested in my growth and development, encouraging me to learn, take on new challenges, and reach my full potential. I absorbed as much knowledge as I could from those around me, and it made me a stronger HR professional. The work-life balance was exceptional. Leadership trusted employees to manage their responsibilities while also being present for important moments in their personal lives, and that trust created a culture of accountability and respect rather than micromanagement. Convatec fostered a positive, motivating environment where people genuinely wanted to do their best work. Since leaving, I haven’t found another organization that compares. I truly believe it was a once-in-a-lifetime place to work, and if circumstances had allowed, I would have happily stayed for the rest of my career.

Cons

Unfortunately, like many others, the position I loved was eliminated as part of organizational changes. Responsibilities that I had managed independently were transitioned to a team outside the U.S. From my perspective, the highly personalized approach we were able to provide was difficult to replicate. Building relationships, knowing the managers and employees you supported, and serving as a true HR partner were the parts of the job I loved most, and I felt those connections became less central over time. It was hard to watch a culture that had once felt so positive, empowering, and employee-focused evolve. When I joined, I felt that my work genuinely mattered and contributed to the company’s mission. That sense of purpose, combined with exceptional leadership and trust, made Convatec a place where people wanted to build long-term careers. One thing I’ve learned is that you can have an amazing career with a company for years, but how you feel when that chapter ends often becomes what you remember most. While I was personally saddened by the changes and disappointed that my role was impacted, I continue to respect Convatec’s mission and the important work the company does. I sincerely hope the decisions that were made position the company for continued success for many years to come. I’ll always be grateful for my time there, and I simply miss being a part of what was, for me, a truly special place to work. I also feel a sense of sadness that future employees may never experience the same unique culture that made my time there so meaningful.

Pros

Direct manager and team was fantastic.

Cons

No career advancement. Built a team around a product they couldnt figure out how to deliver, outsourced 90% of the work to contractors in India, and disbanded when the VP couldn't launch anything.
