Pros

Compensation, at least within the technology area, was quite competitive, and many of the employees there were excellent.

Cons

Previous CEO was clueless about technology, and replaced a capable and nice CTO with one who showed poor ability and poorer character. The new CTO was shown the door within a few months, but by then a lot of damage had already been done. Also, the business leadership had a well-earned reputation for flailing and switching strategies.

Amazingly friendly coworkers, great tech stack and opportunities to learn. SWEs have the opportunity to wear a lot of hats.

Cons

Management had some issues from what I heard, but I was always too busy developing and improving great products. It was a tough market with the ever-shrinking stock photography market, which was likely the reason for it's demise. If the developers working at Corbis had a more relevant market fit, the company would have soared.
