Pros

Amazing colleagues, for the most part. I love my actual role. Working with students and helping change lives is rewarding.

Cons

Mostly amazing and dedicated colleagues who are overworked and under appreciated. Terrible leadership. Not enough people to do the job at hand so burnout, frustration and unhappiness run rampant. Somehow HR thinks that a counseling service makes this all better...and constantly remind us of this "benefit." Very little appreciation from senior leadership for the jobs we perform. As a result, lots of great talent has left and even more are trying to figure out how to escape. Each person that exits exacerbates the workload for the rest of us. Inequity runs rampant. A few people are the favored and are heaped with constant attention. If you are high performing but don't "smile and pretend," you are ignored. If you are favored, you get away with murder. On the plus side, colleagues know who the great employees are... and acknowledge it....and we also know who the crap ones are and support one another in venting sessions when they should be fired and aren't.

Pros

Covista is an organization that has a clear vision and does well in actively pursuing that vision. Covista is willing to adapt, try new things, and trusts its employees to find success. When Covista has fallen short of goals, they have been honest about it, quickly pivoted to address those areas, and then celebrate when we achieve goals. Overall - I am very happy here at Covista. My favorite part of working here is the people. Covista has a culture in which care isn't a buzzword, but is practiced.

Cons

I do wish Covista was more relaxed with RTO expectations. I am not angry about it, and generally am in favor for an in office experience, but wish it was not 4 days a week. 3 days a week feels right. This is a very small 'con' as generally, I am very pleased with Covista.

Pros

My colleagues are amazing. Everyone is fully dedicated to their work and our mission.

Cons

Without a doubt, top leadership is corrupt and driven by profit. They do not care about their staff and only care about themselves. The CEO literally made $17,244,988 in total compensation for the 2025 fiscal year; however, there were countless of hardworking colleagues who were let go. I am not sure how to make sense of that and why someone can make so much and be so heartless. I say this, as I know many senior leaders at the individual university level who were let go just because he woke up one day and wanted to go in a different direction. The schools are run by the CEO who is an attorney and has no concept when it comes to healthcare other than increasing tuition to vulnerable students who might otherwise not have an opportunity to earn a degree. It is sickening. I wish shareholders would replace the CEO, but he is untouchable given how much revenue he was brought in. He can host his town halls to try to relate to us, but everyone sees through him.
