Adtalem Global Education clearly doesn't listen to anyone below the Director level.
Adtalem instituted a regressive return-to-office policy in 2023 (3 days for folks 50 miles within an office at/above a certain salary grade, flexibility to work with your manager if you need an exception due to weather/illness/travel, etc.), and after hearing complaints and concerns from their employees, they made it more aggressive in 2025 (4 days in office for all employees with 50 miles, if you can't make it due to weather or illness you have to take the whole day off, opening new offices to affect more employees, etc.).
They then began not-so-subtly implying that the "flexible" time off perk meant you should be tracking your own PTO and not "abusing" the system (the suggested PTO was 10 days for the first five years of employment).
Beyond that, when multiple people on a team go to HR with complaints of a toxic environment with specific examples and evidence of the behaviors they've seen, it should be taken seriously rather than brushed off. Directors must be held accountable for their behavior when it affects the morale and ethic of an entire team.
