Pros

Benefits are great, quarterly incentives certainly help, and the opportunity for growth is readily there in many departments.

Cons

Some newer leadership does not place value on their people or their expertise. Building trust and collaborative relationships is sadly not a priority as it once was.

Pros

- remote - great quarterly incentive - modern tech stack

Cons

The biggest downside of working at Crane is the top down culture of micro management. This includes daily checklists for jira updates, tracking software that tracks things such as who you talk to most on Teams, code reviews that focus more on formatting and white spaces rather than logic and delivering value, and the list goes on. Crane was not like this when I first joined and the IT department grew substantially, but I think chalking it up to scaling is more of an excuse than true root cause. Additionally, communication from leadership is awful and paired with the micromanagement leads to low morale across the engineering team.
