Fantastic reputation and role within the community, Crisis Services is a cornerstone of crisis intervention and healing in the Erie County area.
Cons
Management- Everything is a problem but miraculously it never is a result of the management style of supervisors and directors. For one program in particular, supervisions and staff meetings seem to be vehicles to blame staff for the inabilities and shortcomings of the department of the agency. Seeking assistance about an issue or raising concern about personal well-being related to the work environment leads to interrogation of if the staff is wanting to quit or if it is because of other employees. Supervisors and management are difficult to trust and promote an us vs. them mentality. On-Call- If you are hired as part time staff, be prepared to work full time hours. If you are hired as full-time staff, be prepared to say goodbye to your family, friends, social life, and regular sleep schedule. There is no work life balance, there is just work. If you voice these concerns to supervisors, you will be met with a shrug and told that "you are the professional here" implying that this is your problem and your job to find a solution.
