Pros
A lot of time off, good variety of experience in the mental health field.
Cons
Subject to mandatory overtime at any second. Required to complete up to 120 additional on call shifts per month. Management punishes those who speak up about concerns within the department. Days off don’t ever feel like a day off, due to additional texts asking you to come in because of short staffing. HIGH turn over, no one ever stays. A lot of negativity in the office. Hard work goes unnoticed and under appreciated. Missing out on countless events, personal life obligations due to being unable to take the time off you’re given because of short staffing. Responsible for sharing cases with all staff in the office. This also means sharing the backlash for mistakes you did not make. Management is often passive aggressive within their style. Management often leaves for the day and team is left to figure it out for themselves when short staffed. Often unable to take lunches or breaks due to how hectic the job can get. Location of the office in an unsafe area. Population you work with often times dangerous and aggressive.
