Engaged Employer

We organized every six months and nothing changed except my desk location - Former Employee CrossCountry Consulting Employee Review

Pros

The people I worked with day to day were sharp and actually fought to do good work, even while everything around them was collapsing.

Cons

- I spent more time trapped in reorganization meetings than actually doing my job. - Every few months came another restructure, another reshuffle, different reporting lines, different strategies that completely contradicted the last ones. - It was maddening watching the same failures get "fixed" by endlessly moving boxes around on an org chart. - Nobody knew who anyone reported to or what the actual strategy even was anymore. - The chaos was not even productive-- it was nonstop confusion disguised as progress. - By the end I stopped caring because whatever plan existed would be abondoned in six months anyway.

Pros

It is a large consulting company, and I constantly wondered how such a dysfunctional organization managed to keep operating.

Cons

There was virtually no coordination within or across teams, operations were severely disorganized, and management was incapable of making decisions that benefited everyone. Most decisions were driven by self interest and routinely came at the expense of employees. An absolutely dreadful experience!
