Pros
Community is thriving, I work downtown at the El Centro location, though the facilities need some love, there is always work being done to make sure the campus runs well. It shows that the community does need to be taken care of and it does encourage me to be there for my students, faculty and staff that keep the place running. There are great people working here that truly care about what they do. There are students here that value their education and show up despite outside circumstances.
Cons
I can only speak for El Centro's location, but the facilities do need a bit more care, still, I think they are doing their best, as downtown does incur a lot of construction especially in this location and it can have it's own effect on the class's attendance or lecture plans. Still I have found there are ways to get around issues like this. There have been issues with enrollment for courses being low at this location but, I have a lot of hope this can rise, you'd be surprised how much word of mouth from your students can do, many of my students have taken my class simply because another student referred me. It can be the difference between teaching a session or not, especially when you are a new adjunct like myself.
