Pros

Sauer- Danfoss allowed employees much leeway in attaining job goals. Most of the time I enjoyed the challanges. Often it was fun. The salary was decent. The benefits were excellent until the company started cutting things.

Cons

I retired in 2009. Layoffs, reduction of benefits, and hardening of HR's attitude convinced me to retire and claim the excellent retirement benefits while they were still available. Sauer- Danfoss was sold and taken private by Danfoss Corporation. Many of the people I worked with have left or retired since the Danfoss takeover. When I've asked recent retirees how it is working for Danfoss, they will usually reply with a roll of the eyes.

Pros

Good work-life balance, decent PTO and benefits, friendly coworkers

Cons

Slow moving in central IT function, many decisions are made by committee, which slows the process way down. Compensation is below average. I have received promotions every 1-2 years for the last 5 years, but advancement in compensation has been very poor. At best it took 10 months to receive a 10% raise commensurate with my promotion. On the worse end, I received almost no salary increase despite my manager, their manager and their manager (our department head) approving the proposed raise.
