Pros

Successful selling takes a large team. In many companies, sales staff are compensated with a base salary plus commissions, leaving out the support staff. In recent years, Danfoss has implemented sort-term initiatives (STIs) for all employees. By meeting their STIs, all employees participate financially in the incremental company gains.

Cons

There is a culture flaw in this Danish company, whereby only leadership holding either Danish or German passports are allowed to bring large orders to the finish line. Local sales management is pushed to the side while leadership holding Danish or German passports sweep in to capture the big orders. Also, leadership in Germany and Denmark ignores the experience of North American sales management. They will look you in the eye and tell you that your experiences did not happen. These two flawed cultures drove me away from Danfoss.

Good work-life balance, decent PTO and benefits, friendly coworkers

Cons

Slow moving in central IT function, many decisions are made by committee, which slows the process way down. Compensation is below average. I have received promotions every 1-2 years for the last 5 years, but advancement in compensation has been very poor. At best it took 10 months to receive a 10% raise commensurate with my promotion. On the worse end, I received almost no salary increase despite my manager, their manager and their manager (our department head) approving the proposed raise.
