Pros

Friendly co-workers. Nice facilities. Some remote work was possible pre-covid .They handled the covid closures well and professionally. There were temporary furloughs.

Cons

Danfoss is a global country based out of Denmark (DK), so most of the decision makers are over there. They have a "follow-the-sun" support model. Sunds nice, but what this translates to mean is the region that messes something up ahead of you are expected to fix it. This happened frequently for us in the U.S. No accountability for preceding region quality of work. DK workers work 8am-3pm then clock out. They basically work less in DK, about 35 hours a week. If you are lucky you may be able to get 30 minutes to discuss with them right at the beginning of you day. That was always a challenge though. Frequently would be blown off on meetings. You will have a manager in the U.S. but the managers in DK can reach out to you at any time and just drop a hot grenade in your lap with 3 minutes of conversation. If you are in the U.S. just expect to be dumped on. Anxiety is always high. You will never hear from APAC region, workers in China are silent. DK will schedule meeting that start at 530am your local time. You will get up early to attend a meeting only to find out they have cancelled it. You didn't know that because you were sleeping! Really considerate. DK also has numerous national holidays and extremely long summer breaks, like 3-4 weeks. If you are in the U.S. you will be picking up the slack on that too. The work still has to be done. (Google Danish holidays and breaks.) Management will change your job duties radically from what you were hired for, then dangle a "potential" promotion after taking on more work and completing it. That's not how promotions work, sorry. Supporting different countries and languages can be challenging. Most people speak English, but accents can be a bit of struggle at times. It was a good learning experience though. Below average pay, retirement matching, and PTO. This is probably an ok company to start out at, but I wouldn't stay long. If you live in the U.S. and work in IT, do yourself a favor and find another company to work for.

Pros

Good work-life balance, decent PTO and benefits, friendly coworkers

Cons

Slow moving in central IT function, many decisions are made by committee, which slows the process way down. Compensation is below average. I have received promotions every 1-2 years for the last 5 years, but advancement in compensation has been very poor. At best it took 10 months to receive a 10% raise commensurate with my promotion. On the worse end, I received almost no salary increase despite my manager, their manager and their manager (our department head) approving the proposed raise.
