Pros

This is a high growth, fast paced environment with plenty of unique challenges that ultimately help advanced your career. Individuals with a positive attitude, willingness to innovate, and dedication to the company's success are rewarded with promotion, pay increases, bonuses, and equity. You ultimately determine your own success at this company, and if you approach it with the right attitude you will be rewarded. There are plenty of opportunities for travel, consulting with Fortune 500 companies, and attending conferences. The majority of my work is production based, so I have plenty of time for side projects or research as I see fit once my major duties are complete for the day. Management is hands-off unless there is a major customer issue or if tasks are not completed. My leadership team have always been very supportive with personal and professional matters. This includes everyone up to the CEO. They are willing to listen to new ideas and have been known to send staff to the U.K. to meet with the investors to pitch new ideas for product improvements. 15 days PTO plus 5 sick and 10 paid holidays (to include day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve). Health care is 100% paid for by the company and is an overall AMAZING plan.

Cons

This is a security company and the leadership will not hesitate to remind you of that fact. This may be a slightly unnerving for employees coming from non-security or government backgrounds. This is a non-issue for Security-conscious employees as well as those with federal government experience. This is not a typical Bay Area startup. The company is focused on its growth and has forgone common Bay Area perks as a result. You definitely can't bring your dog to work and there are no amenities beyond free coffee and Friday lunch. Expect to wear business casual at a minimum. Feedback from both customers and management can be lacking, which is frustrating. Outside training opportunities are non-existent and there are no funds available for training on personal time. A 401K was recently implemented but is significantly below the average match offered at other Bay Area companies. Personal disability insurance is not offered. Telecommuting exists but is generally frowned upon. A more liberal policy will go a long way, especially for those who commute absurd distances in the Bay Area or have children.

Pros

Autonomy & Independence: You get great autonomy to build your own schedule. It operates very much like a true field sales motion, which is great if you value independence. Perks: There is a high degree of expense freedom, and the Sales Kickoffs are a definite highlight.

Cons

The company is currently gasping for air and is super misaligned. There is absolutely no sense of direction. The Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy obviously doesn't work because leadership changes strategy it every Half because of poor performance . Turnover is INCREDIBLY HIGH, people was congratulating me that I made it at Darktrace more than a year when I left, which is never a good sign for a company. CEO REPVUE- stated that only 15% of reps hit their goal attainment at Darktrace from it's reviews. If you apply here, you need to know exactly what you are getting into and be willing to work extremely hard just to help dig the company out of a hole.
