Pros
- Technology works / sells itself - IT Teams like the product once they see it - Great / charismatic co-workers - You own full cycle of business with same commission for renewals as new business. Being given the opportunity to sell products as expensive as Darktrace with little to no sales experence is rare, and a cool opportunity. - Rapid Growth internally leads to opportunity for promotion within 6-9 months - Travel was fun (pre-covid) - You can make a ton of money off of huge contract values + upsells and renewals
Cons
- Young company culture / young management - Useless business development team - Monthly quota is brutal and will annoy clients - Priced out of conversations (but not really since Darktrace almost always comes down with discounts) - Terrible processes - Commission structure is misleading to new hires (2.5% up front, 2.5% after 1 year) Many reviews on this site are not mentioning that Darktrace is quite patient with sales reps and gives amble time to show improvement and hit goals. If after a year you are consistently not performing you will be put on PIP. Sales is unlike other jobs, where if you don’t succeed, you have management make you feel replaceable. Its unfortunately the case in other sales roles I have had.
