Pros

For the position, the base salary is great Healthcare is paid for by the company Healthy amount of PTO

Cons

Cold calling is the tip of the iceberg. Management will tell you they don't micromanage, then turn around and attack you (even if you're getting results) if you aren't making whatever the assigned calls, emails and LinkedIn outreach numbers are for the day. These numbers change daily as management can't make up their minds between getting real results and putting up numbers. Management is horribly unprofessional and frequently jus regurgitates mundane sales tactics instead of listening to the issues and trying to create a concrete solution. Dismal advancement opportunity and for the few who do advance, the work load increase isn't manageable. Productivity goals are unrealistic. There's a difference between realistic goals and stretch goals and management sets minimums at the stretch level and threatens a majority of staff daily about not hitting the goals. Metrics are tracked religiously but real results are not. This leaves room for a lot of shady and dishonest work that reps take advantage of, thus skewing the productivity goals. For a technology company, there are constantly tech problems. Internal CRM is a disaster, although has been cleaned up a bit. Phones are constantly offline. Databases are constantly slow or offline. Way too many issues here and there are only one or two internal IT personell for the entire US. Product cost is too high and continues to increase every year. There's a great sweet spot for smaller companies but most large companies won't justify the cost.\ The biggest problem for a BDR: Darktrace is seen as the sleazy car salesman of the cyber security world due to the amount of outreach they do. They inundate IT people with entirely too many calls, emails, LinkedIn messages, etc and you'll get berated for it fairly regularly. I think customers would rather hear about their car's extended warranty than hear from Darktrace.

Pros

Autonomy & Independence: You get great autonomy to build your own schedule. It operates very much like a true field sales motion, which is great if you value independence. Perks: There is a high degree of expense freedom, and the Sales Kickoffs are a definite highlight.

Cons

The company is currently gasping for air and is super misaligned. There is absolutely no sense of direction. The Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy obviously doesn't work because leadership changes strategy it every Half because of poor performance . Turnover is INCREDIBLY HIGH, people was congratulating me that I made it at Darktrace more than a year when I left, which is never a good sign for a company. CEO REPVUE- stated that only 15% of reps hit their goal attainment at Darktrace from it's reviews. If you apply here, you need to know exactly what you are getting into and be willing to work extremely hard just to help dig the company out of a hole.
