Cons
- Wonderlic test at interview? At least there's no 40 yard dash. - Unless you're leaving at least 9 hours after you get in the door, it'll be seen as disruptive. The hour lunch break is compulsory. Flex time means you get to pick the 9 hours. - Vacation and sick time are the same bucket. - The code base is largely a port from a discontinued application/database product. Although modern compilers can digest it, the tech stack has a strong 90s legacy smell. - Any modifications must be made at the most superficial level that will solve a problem, only extending the complex and fragile latticework. Root cause analysis and first principles thinking are discouraged. - Code reviews are a one-directional conversation, and you won't necessarily be told that. - Refactoring is equated with risk. Don't be surprised if you're told that "even a comment can introduce risk". - "At Will" employer in the strictest sense. You can be sacked without warning or cause and sternly marched out the door by people who were your friends yesterday. Minimal severance.
