Pros

As an engineer (to note, CSM and other roles work very differently, my take is only for engineering as I do not know how it works everywhere else), it feels very good to work at Deel: - You can work from anywhere - No more billions of hours of useless meetings - Your work is extremely meaningful and you can easily see how impactful it was - You're rewarded for good work - Basically, you provide good work, you get promoted - Competitive salary - On my team we have very challenging subjects on very technical matters allying DB modeling knowledge, performance optimization and building maintainable engines - Very healthy work conditions, although it depends on your team lead, we do have a very good work culture at Deel where we value the employees - High responsibility, even when you're not a technical lead you still have a lot of responsibilities and it's your duty to manage entire features/frameworks

Cons

- Can be very stressful at times, bcs deadlines are tight and you feel very responsible for your features (you can always count on your team in such occasions which mitigate this by a lot) But Deel is still a startup, we work FAST, we deliver FAST, and it can be very tiring, but you don't join such a company to rest and have it easy, you join Deel if you want a challenge. - Communication can sometimes be a bit complicated when a requirement goes a long way (eg: initial need is x, but when going through multiple teams each adding their own requirement, it becomes messy down the line) especially since we're all remote-working but Deel manages that way better than any other company imo

Pros

Supportive management, clear expectations, good money, work from home culture is dialed in

Cons

Deel Speed is real. Not for everyone, but as I said, expectations are reasonable and compensation is appropriate so I don't see it as a con per se.

Pros

- Fully remote - Mostly nice and talented people, you can learn a bunch and the atmosphere is good in the beginning - Once you realize you're not ever getting a raise you can get by doing bare minimum - You can write the ceo on slack and he will respond, which is actually insane considering its such a huge company

Cons

- Everyone is underpaid, even the senior directors. They present employee equity as extra compensation, but make it very difficult to sell shares at secondaries. - Raise/promotion policies are set up in a way where most ppl will never get it. I've seen superstar employees get 2% annual raise. The rest got 1%. - Pay is localized, so you can do the same exact job but get pay half of the compensation if you're not based in the US. - It's either employee contract for less money, and you have some employee rights given to you by your country, or more money but you're getting misclassified on a b2b contract and using vaction days when you get sick. The actual work requirements and responsibilities are the same in both cases. - If you're not drinking the koolaid you better fall in line and keep any opinions challenging the status quo to yourself - Manager can get pretty manipulative, they'll say anything to appease you, but will not act in your interest unless it aligns with their internal politics play
