Pros
Very friendly coworkers who are, for the most part, very kind people and hard workers. Majority of the residents are kind hearted people who love interacting with those who work there. The food leftover from breakfast, lunch, or dinner is always available to the servers when done serving. The management just above the servers, culinary management and in house manager, are spectacular at their jobs and are not only friendly but help you learn from your mistakes and help you grow. I absolutely love working with my coworkers and the residents and has been the best job I've ever had. However, the lack of staff and care from upper management is really killing the job for me.
Cons
Very little opportunities to increase the amount above the starting pay. I've worked as a server here for over 2 years and only managed to increase my salary by about 70 cents an hour. The hiring process takes well over a month to complete and that is a very large turn away for many attempting to become servers. In the last 5 months, we have lost many servers due to moving jobs and have hired 0 to help replace them. Working on 2 or 3 servers a night when there were regularly 6 servers a night to make it run smoothly is making this job burn you out easily.
