Pros

The only good thing I got out of this job experience was building rapport with patients and seeing them graduate out of program. I did not learn any new skills that I had not already learned at previous mental health jobs.

Cons

This is such a toxic workplace with crazy turnover for both therapists and staff. Poor working conditions and gaslighting like you wouldn’t believe. This company will take any and all patients to stuff their pockets, even ones that are hostile and aggressive. We had a patient actively trying to harm herself and I informed one of the therapists to call CAT/911. Instead, they didn’t think they would be allowed to share patient information to the police and instead called their supervisor to “consult” about a patient throwing their leg off the balcony and threatening suicide. The management here is awful and treats their techs like nothing. No training for new techs either. This is not a collaborative team by any means. The therapists believed they didn’t have to help maintain line of sight, run groups, help with the milieu, cover patient lunches, or build rapport because the program administrator here told them not to. I’ve never felt so taken advantage of by any mental health job in my life. This is a failing business, shown by the 2 residential facilities they closed just in Southern California alone. I regret every second I spent working here, and you will too if you work at this location specifically. No room for growth, terrible pay, and awful benefits. This company values gaslighting and lacks thoughtful patient care.
