Pros
With the position I started as, there was a lot of responsibility which allowed for a ton of experience and exposure to the construction industry. This being the only Pro of The Douglas Company.
Cons
The largest issue is that the upper management causes most of the problems without being willing to take the responsibility for their actions. This starts at the very top with the Owner of the company making decisions and then blaming others in the company when these decisions do not end up working out. From the outside looking in, this is due to the fact that no one is willing to question his decisions from a fear of losing their jobs. The next issue is the lack of loyalty that this company has for any of their employees. The last year that I was with this company, I was constantly questioning if I was going to be let go due to a wrong decision that I made for myself. This was confirmed that the company does not honor any amount of time spent with this company as they have let over 20 employees go since the beginning of 2018. They did not let these employees go based upon performance or seniority in the company but based upon favoritism by the Owner and the Executive Vice President.
